Taking a national conference on tour

Looking to depart from a traditional conference format, our healthcare client challenged us to create a more personal way to engage with its 900 UK staff, in order to understand the “big picture” that would underpin future business priorities and activities.


The Brief

We were tasked to produce an event series that would allow the client’s senior management team to interact with UK staff at a more local, personal level across six regional locations. A flexible format was needed to enable the team to dedicate time to staff to discuss strategic priorities and understand the challenges and opportunities within each region.


The TTA Experience

With incredibly short lead times, the pressure was on to ensure the series of events were a success. Together with our preferred partners, we devised a programme that would allow audience engagement and participation over a two-day period in each of the regional locations.

The events were sequenced over a fortnight and varied in size and scale, with consistency, creativity and cost-effectiveness paramount across the programme. We took a low-key, minimally branded approach, with the emphasis on authentic business content to reflect the sensitive and serious messages the client needed to convey.

A mixture of plenary and small group sessions allowed for content to be presented and discussed in a constructive and open way on day one, while the second day of the event focused on individual training in key business areas. An evening dinner with a guest speaker provided a relaxed time-out for all attendees, with the format adapted to each of the regions.


The Outcome

Our careful planning and attention to detail ensured the entire programme ran smoothly and to budget. From the web-based invitation process to the final delegate return transfer, the team worked tirelessly to produce a seamless, motivational yet cost-effective event.
